Jess helped validate my feelings, and let me know that it was 110 percent okay to do what I want. She helped me see that I didn't have to stay stuck in a soul-sucking career.
Before coaching with Jess, I had been feeling stuck in a job I hated for years. I thought this career was what I had to do since it's what I went to college for. I basically had no self care routine and was engaging in the negative self talk going on in my brain. I also really wanted to find a way to love myself more.
At first, I felt nervous about coaching because I had a hard time even admitting to myself that I was thinking about changing careers, so I was so nervous to actually say these thoughts out loud to someone else. After our first session, that nervousness went away.
I felt so comfortable opening up and just being vulnerable about some big things in my life. I knew that this was going to be a safe space for me to speak my truth without fear of judgment.
Coaching with Jess has helped me find the confidence to live a life that is more aligned and the courage to find my fulfilling, inspiring, dream career. Jess helped validate my feelings, and let me know that it was 110 percent okay to do what I want. She helped me see that I didn't have to stay stuck in a soul-sucking career.
I've also noticed that since my life is shifting, my self-love and self-talk have grown in positive ways. I now have a toolbox of self-love ideas and how to recognize when I am in a funk so I can try to escape it.
If I had to sum up why my coaching experience was so powerful, it would be the feeling of being seen and heard in a compassionate and judgment-free space. I just can't thank Jess enough for this experience.
Jess immediately put me at ease with her vivacity, her capacity for holding space, and her empathy for my goals- and reaffirming that getting space to focus on myself was incredibly important.
Before working with Jess, I was struggling with feeling connected to myself. I was desperate for a change and for some support balancing my personal and professional lives as I stepped forward into becoming a Whole30 Coach. I honestly didn't know what to expect other than that I would find support and feel safe, and I was thrilled to find that that was the truth.
Before we started, I was anxious about what she would think of my goals, and whether or not the struggles I had were stupid or silly. Jess immediately put me at ease with her vivacity, her capacity for holding space, and her empathy for my goals- and reaffirming that getting space to focus on myself was incredibly important.
Coaching with Jess helped me feel confident in who I am, in what I like and don't like, and more willing to hold space for myself first. In my career, that's the confidence to step out as a Whole30 Coach that people need, and putting my story out there. In my inner world, that manifests as a quiet assurance that who I am is enough (quirky socks and all). In my relationships, it's a bit of no nonsense and a whole lot of love. I'm not sacrificing what I want before I even allow myself to want it.
Thank you for taking me on- thank you for listening, thank you for being there, and for holding space so beautifully for me and teaching me how to set sustainable goals and action steps. I am SO grateful to have gotten to work with you, Jess.
Jess so beautifully held space and showed me the way to the goals that would resonate most with me.
If I had to sum Jess and her coaching style up in as few of words as possible it would be - Master at holding space. Truly, as I started out on this journey with her I had a few different goals I wanted to work on and wasn’t quite sure where I wanted to put my energy. As we worked through my form in the initial consult I was shocked at how perceptive she was. She so beautifully held space and showed me the way to the goals that would resonate most with me.
Honestly, I was pretty nervous about one of my goals as it’s something I’ve struggled with for a long time and had A LOT of stories built up around. We were able to construct a goal that just lit me up and every time I read it I was excited about the opportunity and to work on it.
Jess seriously actively listens and reflects back in such a simplistic and thoughtful way. I felt like she was saying things I knew in my heart of hearts but for one reason or another would always get jumbled on the way out of me and into the world. To top it all of just chatting with Jess is the best! She has such a fun, open and light hearted personality and simultaneously is so sincere and caring it shows in every interaction.
Every statement I said, every part of my life that was opened up was so welcomed and she took all of my ups and downs in such beautiful stride. It’s as if she’s seen/experienced it all and holds no judgement to anything that you could bring to her. I truly had a space with her where I felt free to be 100% vulnerable and truly do the work I know I needed.
If you’re at all entertaining working with a life coach Jess is your girl. I would love to work with her again and would recommend her to anyone!
My coaching experience was motivating, empowering, and eye-opening.
When I first started working with Jess, I felt stuck in a pattern of care-taking, and was worried that the cost would ultimately be that I would never finish my own PhD program. I needed to spend guided, concentrated time and effort refocusing my energy onto myself and my goals, and I needed a fresh perspective to help me recalibrate what should be healthy and normal for me.
With that in mind, I came across Jess's Instagram post that said, " A life coach is a fully supportive accountability partner, active listener, and cheerleader who is totally committed to you and the goals you most want in life." I thought to myself that I informally have served this role for so many other people for so long and that's how I got where I am now: neglecting myself and my goals, and resentful about it. Maybe having someone who did this for me would be just what I needed to flip my mindset and lifestyle.
The three goals Jess helped me set in our first meeting had to do with my academic work, setting boundaries, and establishing self-care that was honestly helpful to who I am. What became clear very quickly is that all three of these goals were completely intertwined, and they remained so throughout our coaching sessions. Between sessions, if I mainly focused on one of the goals, the next session would reveal how work towards that goal had positively impacted my progress towards the other two goals.
Through coaching with Jess, I have gotten so much more comfortable saying, "No." The persona I had built for myself and so many of the relationships established with that persona absolutely allowed people to ask anything of me at any time. It didn't take long, though, for me to be stretched beyond my limits, and for me to become resentful of a person who was only doing exactly what I taught them was okay. Now, I'm setting boundaries with the people I love the most, demonstrating to them that I trust them to handle their own lives and problems, and am willing to help within reason, but that I have to prioritize my own needs to be able to be there for anyone else.
My coaching experience was motivating, empowering, and eye-opening. Making changes isn’t always easy, and I couldn’t have done it alone. I would highly recommend working with Jess to anyone who recognizes that something in their life isn’t working and needs an encouraging, cheerful, insightful partner to help figure out what to do about it.
Coaching with Jess was a powerful experience because it helped me find more independence and learn how to put healthy boundaries in place.
Before I started coaching with Jess, I was feeling stuck in every possible way. I knew I needed to make some big changes but didn’t feel able to take action. I was struggling with making the changes because I was so concerned with what everyone else would think. I was trying to shift my living situation, my career, relationships, and my negative mindset.
I was so nervous going into the first session, but Jess quickly eased my mind by guiding me through the process and helping me discover the answers in myself. By the end of the first session I felt amazing because I finally had taken a step forward for myself, and I had the early stages of a plan! That first step is so hard when you’re lacking motivation or hope, I am so grateful that Jess helped me take that much needed step!
Coaching with Jess was a powerful experience because it helped me find more independence and learn how to put healthy boundaries in place. My people pleasing had really gotten out of control and being able to recognize this and start working towards independence again was huge for me! I moved to a new city, am on the path towards a new career, and am feeling much more capable and independent!
If I had to sum up my coaching experience with Jess, the words I would use are: growth, honesty, and love. I am so grateful for this experience! It really helped me through a tremendously difficult time and I honestly don’t know how I would’ve done it otherwise.
